The story of Helping Heart Family Rwanda (HHFR) is one of vision, dedication, and a profound commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities across Rwanda. Born from a heartfelt desire to make a tangible difference, our journey began with a clear purpose and a strong foundation.
Founding and Early Vision
HHFR was proudly founded in June 2021 by a group of passionate and visionary students from the University of Rwanda. Recognizing the pressing challenges of poverty, unemployment, and low living standards among children and youth in local communities, these young leaders decided to take action.
The initial idea was spearheaded by RWIKAZA Gentil and his dedicated colleagues. Their vision quickly gained momentum through close collaboration with Rwandan people living in Belgium, all united by a shared desire to contribute meaningfully to the development and well-being of their homeland.
Official Recognition and Growth
From its inception, HHFR rapidly worked towards formal establishment. We achieved official recognition and were proudly registered under the Rwanda Governance Board with certificate n° 1088/RGB/NGO/OC/08/2022. This significant milestone allowed us to expand our operations and deepen our impact within the country.
Since opening our doors in 2021, HHFR has steadily spread its wings. We began our work by establishing a presence in various districts of Rwanda, including Huye and Gasabo. Our commitment to working hand-in-hand with local governments and seeking partnerships with other like-minded organizations has been central to our growth.
A Future of Impact
While our history is relatively short, it is marked by rapid growth and significant achievements in education, health, social welfare, and counseling. We continue to aspire to extend our reach even further, with the long-term vision of operating in all districts of Rwanda.
The history of HHFR is a testament to the power of youth leadership and collaborative effort in building a more hopeful and prosperous future for the most vulnerable in Rwanda.
